Automatically take clips based on event detection#3

When a point of interest happens such as; kills, double kills, wins, etc. a clip should be automatically taken for the user

this would have to be done on a per game base is and would take a lot of time proably and they would have to get suport from the developers so i could see this as maybe for some games

I don’t think time should/would be a problem. It’s more about being allowed to read the game status from the game servers to pinpoint points of interests happen (e.g. kills, deaths, assists, goals, wins, losses, etc).

IIRC, Plays.TV basically read data from the servers to then pinpoint points of interests (in League of Legends case, it was only kills, deaths and assists).

It doesn’t read data from servers, it reads it from game client memory. You could also do it based on optical recognition like if the game shows a new kill feed in the top right of screen or in a moba if one of the player icons changes into a skull automatically seave as potential clip

Can there be a funtion so you can decide if you want to have clips or / and bookmarks. Don’t want new clips everytime I get a kill. On a long game it gets crazy with all clips. Just let me only bookmark and no new clips.

@Ellegame.spel you can choose to record full sessions, and ICYMI will only bookmark. You can also choose which events to bookmark.

@Josh Lipson Personally I don’t want to record full sessions/matches. I think the program “Outplayed” does it really well. It automatically saves the moments around a trigger (kills, assist, death) and you can also manually save moments. It all gets saved into the same file which is really nice. At the moment I record with Outplayed but if you guys could implement this in Medal I would 100% switch to it. I highly recommend that you guys take a look at Outplayed to look how it works.

@RePacked you can turn on ICYMI for normal clips, you don’t have to use full sessions. We support a bunch of games for event detection, you can choose which events, and you can montage them at the end if you want (not automatically, yet).

@Josh Lipson I don’t like how ICYM makes individual clips. You’ll end up having A LOT of clips. It’s also very annoying that ICYM makes a sounds everytime it makes that clip. I know that you can disable the sounds but that also disables other notification sounds that I still want to have enabled.

I already made a post about that in this site.

@RePacked We changed the sound of ICYMI clips in our Early Access build. It’s a lot more subtle now.
As for the adding clips into one video, you can do this using our montage system. Your clips will still be taken individually, but you will be able to compile them into one video
